College Scholarships

College scholarships are a form of financial aid or merit recognition for college students to pay for their education. What few realize is that there are literally billions of dollars a year given to students from all backgrounds and nationalities in the form of scholarships that many students simply don't know exist and never try for. Given that scholarships rarely have to be repaid, and are essentially without any financial obligations other than to be put towards your education in one form or another, it's amazing that parents and students don't take their scholarship search more seriously than they do.

Unfortunately a fact about scholarships is that many, if not most are unpublicized. College scholarships that can be worth hundreds or thousands of dollars each lie in the drawers of seemingly obscure university departments, faculties, charities, community groups, alumni, institutions and the list goes on.. Once or twice a year (usually) the time comes around for the keepers and decision makers of these free scholarships to make a choice. 'Who do we give it to this year?'

Typically, when a student decides they are going to try for a free scholarship, they get onto the internet and do a scholarship search. The attitude of many is 'I don't need to pay to find the best scholarships, I'll find them myself online'. Which they do. What they don't realize is that scholarships are given FREE in goodfaith, so 9 times out of 10 the school or institution or which ever group or institution it is that has a scholarship on offer does not think to put it on the internet, or send out emails like you find in your inbox every day let alone advertise. They expect the student who will be a good scholarship student and worthy recipient will find it themselves. After all they are giving this away free - they expect candidates to come to them not the other way around. Meanwhile the college scholarships that ARE online are found by every one and surprise surprise - the competition for these scholarships is intense - often the poor college student ends up without a scholarship and in debt to the government after spending hours if not days or weeks on their search and application. To help themselves understand why they'll say "it's too competitive" or "I gave it a go but there just isn't enough scholarships out there". Bollocks!!

Reality is there are more than 2 million scholarship awards out there to suit just about every individual. There are large mainsteam scholarships from national or international organizations in accounting, economics, law. And there left-field scholarships, for instance for left-handed students in a particular state, or for minority groups which only have a few hundred people in the whole country - and there is everything in between. A friend of mine recently rang me about an scholarship she applied for. It was worth $16,000 a year for three 3 years and there are six given out each year - only 5 people applied! It's crazy I know but I am absolutely serious, she got it of course and I know she was worth it. But only 5 people! That's almost pathetic. That's just one example of thousands of free scholarships that are given out each year that few people know about.

How Much Is A $1000, $5000 or $15,000 Scholarship Worth To You?

What is puzzling is that most people refuse to pay for a scholarship service. They want a free college scholarship to pay for their education or their childs (which you and I know costs thousands of dollars, and will take years to pay off) but their mind tells them that because the scholarship is free they can find it free. That's fine, but so will everyone else! Ultimately this person is probably unlikely to get any scholarship and justs wastes his or her time. Why even bother? Let me ask you, if you knew you had a far greater chance at getting a scholarship worth $1000, $5000 or $15,000 by simply paying a small fee of less than $30 to access thousands of high quality and up-to-date scholarships in a database maintained by educators, or you looked yourself, found the same scholarships that everyone else did, spent the same amount of time applying and then lost out because the competition was too tough - would you consider paying the $30 next time?

Ask yourself is my time, my education and my future important enough that I'm not going to chance spending the next 15 years of my life paying off education debt? If you said yes then use the services of Scholarship Search they are the best around.
